I. Introduction
In today's society, where health and wellness are highly prioritized, there has been a notable increase in the number of people who regularly exercise and visit fitness gyms. Although many people are dedicated to their workouts, only a small percentage succeed in reaching their fitness objectives. According to The Rebel Team (2022), only 33% of Filipinos achieved their fitness goals in 2021. The financial burden associated with pursuing fitness can be substantial. Beyond memberships, the costs of personal trainers, specialized fitness classes, and equipment further add to the financial strain. Millions of people set somewhat unattainable fitness goals but not even a mere 40% of those that set goals for themselves, completed half of what they said they were setting out to do (The Joint Corp., 2024). Despite the well-known benefits of exercise, many individuals struggle to incorporate consistent workout routines into their daily lives, contributing to rising obesity rates, which was once considered a problem primarily in high-income and developed countries, but is now a rising health problem in low- and middle-income countries. According to UNICEF (2022), globally, obesity affects 800 million individuals, placing them more at risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and some cancers.
In the pursuit of optimal health and fitness, individuals often seek the guidance and expertise of fitness trainers to navigate the complexities of exercise and wellness. According to AUSactive (2024), there were collectively registered over 250,000 individual exercise professionals. However, a critical obstacle stands in their path: the scarcity of fitness trainers worldwide. This shortage presents a formidable challenge for those striving to achieve their fitness goals, as access to expert guidance and support becomes limited.
Despite growing awareness of health and wellness, many people struggle to meet their fitness goals due to financial limitations, unrealistic expectations, and difficulty maintaining consistent routines. Access to information and resources like trainers and specialized programs often is not enough, highlighting the need for tailored support and sustainable fitness approaches.
